NotesVerlag der "International News Company," 83 und 85 Duane Street, New York. --- Rohr, born in 1840 in Zenner (Rhenish Palatinate), was the publisher of Der Volksfreund, a German-language newspaper published in Buffalo, New York. Originally a gymnasium professor of modern languages in Bitberg, Rohr emigrated in 1868 to the United States and was active as a publisher and insurance agent. In 1869 he married Sophie C. Richert.
