A copy of these translations has been filed on December 10, 1917, for the information of the Postmaster at La Crosse, Wis. ---- "Adolph Candrian (1850 - 1929) was born in Switzerland and emigrated to the U.S. in 1867. He worked first on a German language newspaper in Chicago, and in 1883 he moved to La Crosse, where he bought the German language weekly, Nordstern, editing the paper until his retirement in 1921.
