AbstractGerman Americans who took on leadership positions, in order to help influence their fellow immigrant's opinions about their situation in America. They formed cohesive, organized groups, whose shared experience of migration mobilized them to attain the goals of their ethnic group. Ethnic leadership is defined according to nine elements.
