Polack. --- William Gustave Polack was born in Wausau, Wisconsin on Dec. 7, 1890, the oldest son of Herman A. and Wilhelmina Stohs Polack. He studied at Concordia Seminary, St. Louis, Mo., graduated in 1914, and was ordained into the Lutheran ministry that same year, serving as assistant pastor at Trinity Lutheran Church in Evansville, Ind. until 1920, when he became the chief pastor. In 1925 he was called to the chair of Historical Theology at Concordia Seminary, St. Louis, where he made many contributions in the field of church history. Professor Polack was a Corresponding Member of the Society for the History of the Germans in Maryland.
