AbstractThe purpose of this paper is to report findings from a 1977 survey that asked a random sample of 1,867 adult Nebraskans about their ethnic background and its importance to them. The study is state-wide and compares the degree of assimilation among seventeen different ethnic groups. The authors' primary goals were to determine whether some groups are more assimilated than others and, if so, why.
