AbstractReports on anti-German sentiment in the United States before and during the First World War, and tells the story of Otto Edwin Radke, a third generation German American born in Barrington, Illinois, who enlisted in the 132nd Infantry, Illinois National Guard, in 1917. Otto, along with his cousin Harry, died on October 11, 1918, during the Meusse-Argonne Offensive.
