AbstractA Mennonite poem about the emigration from South Russia to Canada in 1928. Maria Wiebe's poetic account of "Our Journey from Russia to Canada" is a detailed description not only of the hardships of her own emigration from Alexandrovka in South Russia to Herbert, Saskatchewan, but also of the common fate of so many young Mennonites who were, like her, fortunate enough to escape the years of starvation which would follow that last chance to leave for a new homeland in 1928.Includes a preface and 63 notes to the text.
