AbstractThe Germania Musical Society is widely acknowledged to have been one of the most important traveling orchestras to visit the United States in the 19th century. It was an orchestra of about two dozen men who traveled widely in the United States and Canada between 1848 and 1854. This article emphasizes one of its members, Henry Albrecht, and his political life related to the Revolution of 1848.
