AbstractDr. Arndt was the son of a shoemaker who came from Pomerania and settled on the prairie outside of Chicago. He was educated entirely in Missouri Synod schools, but was also self-taught. At Concordia Seminary in St. Louis he studied under Walther, Pieper, Lange, Stoeckhardt, and Guenther.... He collected biographies of pastors and teachers written in their own hand, largely in German.
