| Abstract | Focuses on the history of Germans who lived east of the Blue Ridge Mountains in Virginia during the eighteenth century, in what today are the counties of Culpeper, Fauqueir, Madison, Orange, and Rappahannock. The first group of Germans came to Virginia in 1714, followed by another group late in 1717, with a steady influx of Germans arriving until after the Revolutionary War. |
