AbstractGeorge V. Hobart (1867-1926) was a prolific and successful journalist, writer, and playwright. "A full appreciation of Hobart's work and that of his fellow creators of "Dutch Dialect" materials would have to acknowledge the distorted syntax, the mixed metaphors, and the thought-dissociations as elements that were to become part of the future development of modern literature."
