Grote organized sixty-three men and women [all German immigrants or children of German immigrants] into the Llano River Valley Circuit, Rio Grande Conference, Methodist Episcopal Church, South. . . . The congregations were located in Pleuweville (now Castell), Lower Willow Creek, Upper Willow Creek (now Art), Beaver Creek (now Hilda), Simonsville (now Grossville), Little Saline and New Canaan.
