AbstractPart 2 of Christoph H. Ficke and his voyage from Germany to America. Begins: "Here one finds good German lodgings with a Swiss, 'Zum Goldenen Stern,' (The Golden Star). From here one takes the train to New Buffalo and from there on the steamer to Chicago or Milwaukee." He discusses farming methods in America and his observations of Yankees. His correspondent was Wilhelm Fischer, in Mecklenburg.
