AbstractDetails the author's search for information on William John (Wilhelm Johann) Ebert, who was born illegimately in 1869 in the village of Laage, in Mecklenburg-Schwerin. William John Ebert came to America at the age of 13 in 1881 with his grandmother, Maria Beckman(n) Ebert, and his mother Christine (Ebert) Funk. William John Ebert was marired in Slades Corner, Kenosha County, Wisconsin to Catharine Hemker. They moved from Wisconsin to Iowa to Minnesota and back to Wisconsin.
