AbstractIt was a talkie premier and the bobbysox crowd was there, but the man and woman on the screen were unknowns and the language they spoke was foreign and hard for the mimicking young people to pronounce. . . . The moving picture, produced jointly by the University's Bureau of Visual Instruction and departments of comparative philology and German, is a new project to teach the sound and intonation of German language through the medium of sound film.
