AbstractSummary of a family history submitted to celebrate the 150th anniversary of the founding of the state of Minnesota. All of the families discussed here came from German regions, Alsace-Lorraine, and Switzerland, and eventually settled in southern Minnesota, with three of the families being in Minnesota in 1858. Some families spent time in Wisconsin or Illinois first. Family names are Schmitt, Haber, Lipp, Bangerter, Sahli, Wolf, Simon, Habein, and Niemeier.
