AbstractFriedrich Wilhelm Makowski emigrated from Danzig, Prussia at the age of 22. In Guadalupe County, Texas, he found employment at the Blumberg farm near McQueeny and raised enough money to bring his mother and two younger sisters to America. In 1896, at the age of 28, he enrolled at Blinn College in Brenham to become a Methodist minister. This article details his life as a minister in Texas.
