AbstractMany of the early settlers were Germans who immigrated to Texas during the mid-to-late 1840s, as well as Moravian and Bohemian immigrants who began arriving in the 1850s. Early family names include: Willrich, Kreisch, Hausmann, Kraemer, Loehr, Helmcamp, Huebner, Laux, Fietsam, Richter, Hensel, Sladczyk, Janda, Klimicek, Hilsher, Lidiak, Adamcik, and Rainosek.
