AbstractGesler was born in Lunden, in the Duchy of Holstein, and migrated to America in 1852. He settled in Davenport, Iowa, and was influential in the Upper Mississippi River Valley as a proponent of education. He died in Coronado, California. Includes several of Geisler's poems.
