AbstractReprints an article from the New York Herald about the April 3, 1884 wreck near the entrance of the Halifax, Nova Scotia harbor, in which ninety passengers and thirty-four crew were lost. Most of the passengers were German-speaking immigrants who intended to settle in the Western States and Territories. The article provides a passenger list that cites places of origin.
