AbstractFrom 1882 to 1931 more than 500 pastors came to North America from two small German villages. Helmut Edelmann, representing the North Elbian Evangelical Lutheran Church in the District of Husum/Nordsee, seeks to discover what happened to this unusually large amount of pastors who left Breklum and Kropp, and how they impacted the Lutheran churches in the U.S. and Canada. This second volume in a proposed trilogy focuses on the ethnic German colonization of Texas with regard to the formation of the Lutheran Church in America. Also touches on the Lutheran Church in Philadelphia, New York, Chicago, San Francisco, and Oakland, California.
