AbstractBorn March 14, 1801 in the Lochmuehle in Mundelfingen (Baden-Wuerttemberg), Ambros Oschwald became a beloved priest sought for his healing abilities, even when assigned to the most remote locations by the bishops, and a writer of books of prophecy. He eventually emigrated to the United States in 1854 with 113 followers to found the fundamental Christian commune of St. Nazianz in Manitowoc County, Wisconsin. "Der Vater," as everyone called him, died there on February 27, 1873.
