AbstractFounded from the German men's choir that performed at Lincoln's casket while it was lying in state at the Chicago Court House, the Club hosted Prince Heinrich of Prussia (brother of Kaiser Wilhelm II) in 1902 and despite the anti-German sentiment of World War I, reached its peak membership in 1921. Social events including both German-American and other well-known Chicago names were regular occurrences.
