AbstractThe purpose of this thesis is to analyze the relations of the German population of Milwaukee to their fellow citizens during the period of the First World War. Throughout this study an attempt has been made to discover evidences of any pro-German attitudes on the part of the city's German Americans and to ascertain the amount and the intensity of the anti-German sentiment directed towards that element during the war.
