AbstractContents: Early education -- The school day -- The school year -- Teachers -- Supervisors, boards, and committees -- Remembering special events -- Enrollment -- Endings -- Teachers' stories -- Class photos -- 2007 Industrial Hollow reunion.
NotesThe history, recollections, photographs and published documents in the book were compiled in conjunction with an all-school reunion held in 2007. The Township of Center was first settled by Irish immigrants, followed by Germans, and then German-Americans from Milwaukee. There is no evidence of a wholly "German school" at Industrial Hollow. The school is thought to have been in existence since 1881; the earliest enrollment records are from 1897. "German-speaking students carried the names of Buesing, Dalke, Glasbrenner, Beyer, Klitzke, Timm, Wichman, Jens and many others." Includes bibliographical references (page 136). Donated by the compiler and author of the book, Sharon Nachtwey, in 2018.
