AbstractInformation on Carl Gerhard Grashorn, who was born in Husum, Oldenburg, in 1851, and came to America at the age of 23. In addition to operating creameries in Mayville and Greenwood, Wisconsin, he was a Wisconsin farmer and later a landlord in Chicago. He also lived for a time in Paw Paw, Michigan, before returning to Horicon, Wisconsin. He published two books of poems, both entitled "Blumen am Wege," one in 1907 and the second in 1922.
