NotesWilhelm Müller (Frater Jocundus, Puck), born 1845 in Heppenheim, Hessia, died 1931 in Heppenheim. Emigrated to USA in 1866, taught at Seidensticker's German-American school in Indianapolis 1866-1869, then became head master at the 20th District School in Cincinnati, later principal of the 15th District School. Proprietor of a farm in Louisa County, Virginia from 1880 on. Edited Puck in New York 1866-1898, left this position due to ill health.Won a prized in 1882 for his comedy, "Im gelobten Land," which was first performed at the Germania Theater in New York on December 29, 1882. Member of the Deutscher Litterarischer Klub von Cincinnatii. Went to Germany, then returned at the outbreak of WWI. Lived in 1918 in New York with violinist son-in-law, Theodore Spierling. Returned to Hepenheim in 1924.
