AbstractFor more than two centuries the London archives of the Society for Propagating Christian Knowledge have preserved a valuable yet almost entirely overlooked source of early German American history, which is soon to appear in the Wormsloe Foundation Publications of the University of Georgia Press. The source is the Salzburger Letterbooks of Henry Newman, the secretary of the S.P.C.K, who was instrumental in sending several transports of persecuted Salzburg Protestants to the Colony of Georgia.
