MKI AnnotationRev. Carl August Paeth was a theologian and professor of German at the Chicago Theological Seminary since 1892. He was born in Zemmin, Germany, in 1854, and came to America in 1873. He graduated from Northwestern College in 1878, and from the Union Biblical Institute in 1879. His first charge was the Evangelical church, Streator, Ill., 1879-1882. He died in 1902 at his home in Naperville, Illinois, of pneumonia.
