| MKI Annotation | Johann Friedrich Gustav Harders was born in Kiel, Germany in 1863, arrived in the United States in 1887, and married Isabella Schmidt in 1889. J. F. G. Harders was the first editor of Kinderfreude, published by Northwestern, serving in that role from 1892 until around 1907, when he served in Indian missions in Arizona until his death in 1917. He was a Lutheran pastor and also the principal of the Jerusalem Lutheran Church and School in Milwaukee (1904). |
