Rudolf Voigt was born November 11, 1899 in Frankenberg, Saxony, and died in 1956 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. He studied German language and literature at the University of Leipzig. He came to America in 1924, and was employed as a salesman in Paterson, New Jersey. In 1925 he moved to Milwaukee. After studying at the University of Illinois, he taught German in Urbana and at Northwestern University, later at the University of Wisconsin in Milwaukee. [Ward, Bio-Bibliography, 1985]
