George William Lose was born on September 28, 1852 in Pleasant Unity, Westmoreland Company, Pennsylvania, to parents Henry and Sophia (Porch) Lose.

Bachelor of Arts, Capital U., Columbus, Ohio, 1871. Graduate Theological Seminary, same, 1874. Married Catharine Emma Sowash, May 6, 1875.

Evangelical Lutheran pastor at Cridersville, Ohio, 1875-1878; Strasberg, Virginia, 1878-1881; Amanda, Ohio, 1883-1886; Allegheny, Pennsylvania, 1886-1896; Avalon, Pennsylvania, 1896-1899, Massillon, Ohio, from 1899.

Died May 20, 1927, and is buried in Union Cemetery, Columbus, Franklin County, Ohio.
