Edward / Eduard Morwitz was born 12 June 1815 in Danzig, Prussia and died 13 December 1893 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He was a physician and inventor in Germany and a newspaper publisher and physician in the United States. During the 1848 revolutions, he favored the revolutionaries, and as a result felt pressure to emigrate, and by 1852 he had settled in Philadelphia. See also: Wikipedia and the Jewish Encyclopedia.
