AbstractHeinrich Struve came to Texas in 1848, did his bit toward the taming of a wild country, and then returned to his native country to tell of his experiences. He left two sons in Texas: Amand & Louis. Upon his return to the old country he wrote accounts of his stay in Texas. These stories were first published in periodicals and then later they were collected and published as a book
