AbstractBertha Tauber was born in Munich in 1853. The daughter of an artist, she met and mingled with many noted people, and even encountered, unwittingly at the time, King Maximillian II. Though not addressed in this book, in 1875 Bertha married Canadian-American William Harper, and moved to the U.S. that same year.
