ContentsTwo collections. The first includes scans of some 20 letters written in German from the 1850s to the 1880s; the author of most of the letters is Christian Habhegger (1828-1910), whose Swiss-German family was prominent in the Watertown and Milwaukee area.

The second collection focuses on Mata Hartung (1888-1971). Mata's mother was Caroline Rado Hartung, who was the daughter of Anna B. Habhegger Rado, the sister of Christian from the first collection. Mata married Benjamin A. Crane in 1927. Among the scans of documents and photographs in this collection are:

Mata Hartung's (1888-1971) typewritten autobiography. Transcriptions of Mata Hartung's diaries: 1912, 1914 (two parts), 1915 (two parts), 1916, 1919-1920, 1941-1945, 1945-1947, 1949 Rado / Radow/ Radu genealogy Photos related to Mata Hartung's job as a contracted teacher in several rural communities around Wisconsin as well as one in Montana Photos related to Norbert Hartung's service as a military engineer during WWI.

A handwritten obituary: "Mrs. [Caroline nee Rado] Hartung was the widow of Louis Hartung, who had been a florist here in the city for 40 years. Both had been born in Two Rivers and lived here through the whole span of their lives. She was born in Saxonburg, the town of Mishicot, February 25, 1862, of German and Swiss parentage when she and Mr. Hartung were married in 1886." Caroline Hartung died in 1933.
