AbstractMargaretha Klein (1858-1927) was the second child of Bavarian immigrants who came to Adrian, Michigan, in 1854. She learned German from J. Denninger at St. John's Lutheran school. From about 1878 to 1882, Margaretha visited her grandmother, Augusta Steger Volkert, in Weissenburg, Bavaria, where she became godmother to a cousin. She returned to Michigan in 1882, and in 1887 married Henry Carl Fruck, who listed his profession as gardener, florist, and yardman. Henry was born Carl Heinrich Furck in Nakel, Germany, in 1862. Henry died in 1910, after which Margaret moved to Detroit, where she died in 1927.
