MKI AnnotationHütte --- German-American author. Schoppe, Amalie, nee Weise, b. October 9, 1791 in Burg on the isle Fehmarn, died September 25, 1858 in Schenectady, N.Y. Established a private school for girls in Hambrug. Came to America in 1851 after the death of her husband. Wrote for Cotta's Morgenblatt. Well known for her children's literature.
