AbstractFour Kemper brothers emigrated from the Principality of Lippe-Detmold (North-Rhine-Westphalia) in 1848. After arriving in New Orleans, three brothers went to Hermann, Missouri, and one went to Iowa. This article examines the construction and development of Kemperhof, the homestead built near Hermann, MIssouri.
