AbstractThe story of the Weber family who left Neunkirchen am Potzberg in (what was then part of) Bavaria, Germany in the early 19th century with one branch emigrating to Brazil while the other branch started their new life in the United States. Includes many translated letters and seven appendices containing recipes, a translation of "Das Für und Wider die Auswanderung nach Amerika" (ca. 1832), a genealogical chart of Jakob Weber (1753-1827), and a detailed appendix of Jakob and Rosina Wollenschläger’s nearly 1,000 descendants giving birth, marriage, death and burial dates along with geographical information.
